Chris Chen is a Sydney based photographer whose work encompasses food and lifestyle, interiors, portraits and travel.

Chris grew up in Brisbane, discovering her passion for photography at high school in the days when they still had darkrooms. She moved to Sydney to complete a degree in Visual Arts at Sydney College of the Arts.

Chris has since been commissioned by a wide range of editorial and advertising clients, photographed numerous cookbooks and travel shoots have taken her to all parts of the world.

What started as a personal project photographing ocean pools along Australia's coastline became the seeds for Chris's first book Ocean Pools (co-authored with Marie-Louise McDermott, published by Thames and Hudson in October 2022).

Chris works out of her studio in St Peters, which has a fully equipped kitchen and natural light.
